Bites with Attached Ticks:
Noticing tick bites on humans or pets—often small, swollen spots where the tick is attached—indicates that these parasites are around.

Presence in Grassy or Brushy Areas:
American dog ticks typically quest (wait for hosts) in tall grass, brush, and along wooded edges. If you find ticks in these zones around your property, it’s a sign they’re well established there.
